The art direction for more wildlife and a new aerial perspective literally sent me up a tree, and then on to a raptor rescuer for an up close and personal interview with a red-tailed hawk.



I sketched quickly at 45 feet up...

and even quicker before dinner in the bird house!
My much improved final sketch was approved by the art directors.


While I started my final drawing the students transferred their favorite journal sketches to ceramic tiles that were glazed, fired , and incorporated into a handmade native and recycled wood frame made by art furniture maker Paul Colucci.

The piece was completed in early May and was previewed at the Student Waterwatch Congress at the Dennos Museum Center and then officially unveiled at the TADL with Sabin students in attendance and reading poetry from their work with Terry Wooten.
